We have organised regular sessions with Deenview Project participants since January 2018. These sessions are structured with the aim to create a change from the previous educational framework: the process is an attempt to establish a more equal partnership, a collaboration, an inclusive and empowering process for all involved.
We slowly developed a methodology where we have discussions and conversations about forms of communication, the use of communication aids, related practical issues, difficulties and the question of inclusion and acceptance in the local (or wider) community. The hands-on art making processes accompany these conversations and gradually became a natural, spontaneous part of each session with choices of various techniques of drawing, painting and print making. Participants are supported but not directed or taught in this setting.
